By the end of the second quarter of this year, the company plans a phased launch for all G7 iOS users everywhere. Dexcom chair, president and CEO Kevin Sayer says that—in one years’ time—Dexcom has moved at an extraordinary pace.

“We launched G7 in 16 additional countries, released Dexcom ONE+ and are … announcing the phased launch of ‘Direct-to-watch’,” says Sayer, “… that’s two best-in-class products and a feature designed to empower even more people living with diabetes.”

At the March 2024 ATTD Conference in Florence, Italy, Dexcom also announced positive data from the longest, prospective, follow-up study to date of a cohort with established type 1 diabetes.

Using the Insulet Omnipod 5 automated insulin delivery system (AID) with Dexcom G6, it was demonstrated that long-term use of the AID system could safely maintain improvements in blood-sugar outcomes for up to two years.

Despite the long duration of the study, event rates for severe hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis remained low at 2.04 and 0.24 events per 100 person-years.
